Bahrain Academy Advances to Regional Finals Monday, September 9th, 1991 The Bahrain Academy Al Theeb Al Ahmar are one step closer to winning a Youth Cup, and the season came to a close for the Iraqi Academy Osod Al Rafideen. Bahrain Academy won the Elimination Round 3-1, with a 14-8 victory in the deciding game at Keystones Stadium today. Bahrain Academy first baseman Jaja Zahor was named the MVP of the series, after hitting .400 with a .455 on-base percentage. He had 3 homers, drove in 5 RBI and scored 10 runs. "I just hope I can keep it up in the Regional Finals," he said. The Bahrain Academy Al Theeb Al Ahmar will play against the Algerian Academy Les Fennecs in the next round. Algerian Academy won their series against the Iranian Academy Team Melli 3 games to 0. The Regional Finals schedule will be announced after the Elimination Round finishes. |
